32 Years of Courtroom Experience
Dan Pope has been practicing law for 32 years. In that time, he has handled over a thousand cases and recovered millions of dollars for injured clients. He serves King, Pierce, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom Counties.
Dan grew up in Seattle, and received a degree in biology in 1978. He worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) from 1978-1981, as a research biologist and worked as a commercial diver in Alaska and Washingon. He is also an inventor, who designed and built a diving research vehicle, used in the Arctic Ocean for survey work, and currently holds a patent on a device for sailboats.
Dan graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, OR in 1984 and began his career in law at the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Dan was a Deputy Prosecutor for 4 years, prosecuting homicides, burglaries, robberies, rapes, DUI, and other offenses. He received extensive training and experience in technical accident reconstruction, and tried many vehicular homicide cases. After going into private practice in 1988, he was appointed as special deputy prosecutor to handle the appeal for the State of Washington, on one homicide case he had tried. The inmate's exceptional sentence was affirmed.
In 1988 Dan went to work for State Farm Insurance, and tried or arbitrated dozens of cases as an insurance company attorney. He knows how the system works, and knows how their lawyers work.
In 1991, Dan began representing injured people instead of insurance companies.
For 26 years Dan has been working exclusively for victims of car, motorcycle, truck and bicycle accidents, and those injured by insurance bad faith. His office is conveniently located at the Northgate Executive Center, just south of the mall. Parking is free. He travels frequently from Everett to Bellingham, and will meet you at your home, in the hospital, or at your place of employment. There are no charges for travel, and no fees are charged unless a settlement is obtained.
Dan is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, and the Washington State Association for Justice. He is licensed to practice in federal and state court.
Dan lives in NE Seattle with his 17 year old daughter, and enjoys sailing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. (Click here for more photos and videos.)
