32 years courtroom experience

Hundreds of cases settled

Understands how the system works

After working as a registered nurse for 25 years, I became quadriplegic  7 years ago. A few years later, while riding on a Metro bus, I was injured in my wheelchair due to the bus driver's negligence.  I had a difficult time finding an attorney- I was told it would be hard to prove that I was injured since I was already a quadriplegic. Dan Pope agreed to help me. The case was settled before going to court, and  I was very happy with my settlement.

About a year later, I was hit by a truck in a cross-walk in my wheelchair.  The insurance company hired a doctor who examined me, and said I was no worse off than before the accident in the crosswalk.  I was outraged, but Dan told me not to worry-this was the way insurance companies worked.

Dan’s dedication to my case was phenomenal. He  took  depositions, filed motions, met with all of my doctors, and challenged their “expert” witnesses. He  did everything he could to ensure that I would receive  compensation. He  worked very hard until about 2 weeks before trial, when we had a mediation. He obtained a settlement worth more than a million dollars. After losing my home in 2003 due to my quadriplegia, I was able to buy a house, and I am currently having it converted to accommodate my disabilities. For the first time in 7 years I can live in my own house.

Throughout my ordeal, I was depressed and scared about my future. Dan’s expert legal skills and his confidence helped alleviate my stress. In the end he kept all of his promises and obtained a settlement which exceeded my expectations.

I recommend him wholeheartedly.
